Company:

Creatv MicroTech is a privately-held company founded by Dr. Cha-Mei Tang in 1996. The company’s business is based on cutting-edge research and development – leveraging our expertise in the sciences and engineering related to high-aspect-ratio microfabrication and ultra-sensitive bio-detection. 

Creatv’s microfabrication of micro metal and composite structures is unmatched by any one in the world. 

Creatv’s bio-detection instruments are very sensitive yet compact and easy to use.

Management Team

• Cha-Mei Tang, Sc.D. – Founder, President, and Chief Scientific Officer
  
  Dr. Tang has led the research and commercial efforts at Creatv MicroTech since founding the company in 1996. She received her B.S., M.S. (EE) and Sc.D. from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Tang worked at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) for 18 years – eight of which were in the capacity of Section Head. Her areas of research included free electron lasers, accelerators, cold field emission cathodes and x-ray generation and applications. She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and was named the 1992 “Most Outstanding Woman Scientist in the Federal Government” by WISE-Women in Science and Engineering. She has received nine patents and has five patent applications pending. She has published over 150 research papers.
   

• Platte T. Amstutz, III – Chief Financial Officer and Director of Business Development
  
  Mr. Amstutz joined the company in 2001 as CFO. During his 35-year career he has worked on Wall Street, in domestic and overseas banking and in corporate finance for two multinational companies. He held senior level positions with NCR Corporation as Assistant Treasurer and was Corporate Treasury Director of Whirlpool Corporation. Amstutz holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T., and an M.S. in Industrial Management from M.I.T.’s Sloan School, with a concentration in Finance. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
   

• Peixuan Zhu, M.D., Ph.D. – Biosensor Research Supervisor
  
  Dr. Peixuan Zhu joined Creatv in 2002 and was promoted to Supervisory Research Scientist in 2003. Prior to Creatv, he was trained in medicine, microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics, and has over 20 years experience in performing research in the detection of a wide variety of pathogenic viruses and bacteria. He has extensive experience in the purification of specific antibodies and is well-suited to develop and perform assays for the detection of pathogens using immunoassay and genetic methods in the integrating waveguide biosensor.
