NeutrAvidin™ Coated 0.1 mm Glass Beads

NeutrAvidin™* conjugated glass beads are an inexpensive alternative to magnetic beads for isolation and preparation of biotinylated nucleic acids, antibodies, ligands, and other molecular targets. Our 0.1 mm conjugated glass beads are visible to the naked eye so that they can be easily manipulated at the bench top, and followed throughout an experiment.

Creatv’s conjugated glass beads have a similar capture efficiency to magnetic beads and, in many cases, lower background noise. Multiple bead sizes and conjugations are available to meet your laboratory needs.

Benefits:

  • Conjugated glass beads readily disperse into solution, and are easily separated from liquid in seconds
  • The glass substrate has a neutral charge, which limits nonspecific binding
  • Conjugated glass beads are extremely stable, and resistant to agitation and high pressure
  • Conjugated glass beads are large enough to be easily captured, manipulated, and visualized
  • NeutrAvidin™ is a highly specific biotin binding protein, affinity of Kd=10ˆ -15M

Applications:

  • Cells can be captured with biotinylated antibodies or by biotinylating the cells directly
  • Proteins, ligands, carbohydrates, etc. can be captured for use in any assay
  • DNA/RNA or nucleic acids can be bound to the beads and used for hybridization, PCR, DNA detection, etc.
  • Assays are rapid, because the beads can be separated from solution quickly, reducing washing and conjugation steps
